End of Support of version 4
Upgrades to RIGHTS 20|20 version 5
Support for That’s Rights! +EasyRoyalties version 4 ended on 31 December 2021.
After 31 December 2021 customers who purchased licences of our version 4 products one-off may continue to use the software as long as it is compatible with their operating system and any required external software. If the software stops working for any reason or if it becomes vulnerable because of any third-party product incompatibilities we will not be able to provide a fix; our HelpDesk and staff will also be unable to answer questions or resolve customer issues with version 4 functionalities.
Support to one-off accounts of version 4 will be limited to:
- Downloads of the installer of version 4.10.39 for moving the software on a new device
- Issue of new credentials or reset of credentials if there is a change of staff for an existing and active seat or for moving the software to a new device (See more below).
Version 4 customers who will not have upgraded to version 5 by January 2022 will be prompted to refresh their registration and will be provided with standard instructions as to how to download, install and activate their copies of version 4 software if they need to do so in the future. Our HelpDesk will not however be able to provide assistance with installation issues or technical & user support after 31 December 2021.

Data migration and training services are available for purchase until 30 June 2021. Purchases of one-off version 4 components (e.g. additional title capacity) are possible until 31 October 2021.
Purchases of version 4 volume upgrades (additional title capacity, additional users, additional databases etc.) are possible until 31 October 2021. Any changes in your configuration after that date will require an annual subscription to one of the RIGHTS 20|20 (version 5) plans.
For version 4 site licences, support will be limited to software downloads and to issuing credentials for replacement devices or for new staff/users of existing and active software seats. Any additional deployment of the software (e.g. adding new seats/users or connecting the application to additional databases etc.) or any other changes in the configuration will require a subscription to version 5.
Your data is entirely in your custody, stored on your devices/servers separately from the software. End of support for version 4 does not affect your database file.
Yes. That’s Rights! +EasyRoyalties version 4 will not be turned off when support ends, and will continue to run so long as it continues to be compatible with your operating system and environment. You can sign up to RIGHTS 20|20 version 5 later in the future.
No. Our HelpDesk will be offering support for the latest release of version 5 (or higher) only —investigations and assistance for users of versions older than the current version will not be technically possible.
Yes. You can upgrade any time in the future and still benefit of a 10% continuing-customer discount. However pending on the complexity of your data and the new features/changes in the features of our solutions implemented by that time, there may be delays in converting your data to version 5 or version 6; tight deadlines would be difficult to accommodate (if you are for example in the middle of a royalty calculation cycle).
Training for any version 4 configurations is not available after 30 June 2021.
You do not have to, but backing up your That’s Rights! or RIGHTS 20|20 database file as part of any backing up provisions you have in place is a good idea regalrdless of which version your are using.
Normally, a version 4 database file can be easily converted to version 5 by the Customer. However, as new features are being added to version 5 continuously, conversion may become more complicated; it is best to request a conversion of your data to version 5 at from us via our HelpDesk. (This service is provided gratis.)

Yes.
You can request a trial copy and use the software for a free, 15-day or 30-day trial period with a copy of your database.
Yes. If you currently are on a subscription plan, please contact us to arrange for a free trial.
We not need the foreign rights functionalities. Are there any configurations without foreign rights?
Yes, until 31 October 2022 you can upgrade to a royalties-only configuration and keep it for an unlimited number of subscription terms at fixed rates for the first three subscription terms (annual).
Another option would be EASY ROL; that package is offered at attractive small- and x-small-publisher configurations to accommodate requirements of small EasyRoyalties customers of older versions.
Email us at sales@thatsrights.com with the details of your required configuration, and we will send you an invoice. Once your purchase is completed, you will receive your version 5 credentials to register the new version. We will be performing the conversion of your database from version 4 to version 5 gratis.

No. The conversion of your data is provided by us gratis. If for your upgrade you choose a configuration that involves Royalty Portal the set up fees of the portal is waived for continuing customers .
That would not be a problem. If you let us know in advance, we will make sure that your version 4 credentials do not expire until you are ready to move to version 5 and we will schedule your data conversion whenever this is convenient for you to allow ample time for you to become familiar with the new features.
NOTE: Your subscription term however will begin upon signup regardless of regardless of when you will move to version 5.
Software subscription fees are guaranteed for three years after sign-up to a subscription plan (if your configuration does not change).
Changes of configuration (e.g. additional capacity, features or additional users) will be billed at the prices in effect at the time when those are required. Any continuing-customer discounts will be applicable to the total software fee for the remaining time of each special offer.
NOTE: Hosted Desktop Services (if required) are provided by a third party; annual fees may change. We are making every effort to notify you in advance.
Continuing customer discounts are not applicable to Hosted Desktop fees.

Support for That’s Rights! +EasyRoyalties version 4 is scheduled to end on 31 December 2021.
After that date customers who purchased licences of our version 4 products one-off may continue to use the software as long as it is compatible with their operating system and any required external software. Support to users of version 4 will be limited to:
- Downloads of the installer of version 4.10.39
- Resetting of user credentials for existing users who need to move their installation to a new device.
Requests for the above will be addressed to version4@thatsrights.com
Data services, remote training of new users etc. for version 4 accounts will not be available after 30 June 2021.
Volume upgrades to one-off version 4 configurations for additional users, additional title capacity or add-ons will not be available after 31 October 2021.
One-off customers moving to subscription
1. One-off customers who have purchased That’s Rights! or EasyRoyalties version 4 and wish to upgrade to one of the subscription options of RIGHTS 20|20 Version 5 before April 2021 will benefit from a 25% discount off the published subscription fees) of any standard configurations for the first three years of subscription (10% lifetime discount on the published subscription fees thereafter). Any standard configuration upgrades (additional title packets, additional users etc.) purchased during the above three-year period will also receive a 25% discount. In addition, any fees paid for licences/upgrades/add-ons three years prior to purchasing a subscription will be applied pro-rata to the initial subscription fees (contact us for more information).
2. Sign-ups to subscription packages after 30 April 2021 will receive a lifetime discount of 10% on the published subscription fees ; any fees however paid for licences/upgrades three years prior to purchasing a subscription will still be applied pro-rata to the initial subscription fees.
3. ‘Site licences’ (unlimited users and/or titles) were discontinued in 2017. Site-licence customers who originally purchased site licences of any version 3 or 4 configurations before then (or had upgraded their configurations to version 4 site licences) and who join one of our subscription schemes before 31 December 2021 will receive a 30% discount on the published subscription fees for three years after signing up if they maintain a configuration of at least seven users for That’s Rights! (or of at least two users and 5,000 titles for EasyRoyalties); a 10% lifetime discount on the published subscription fees thereafter. Any configuration upgrades purchased during this three-year period will also benefit from a 30% discount. In addition, any fees paid for licences/upgrades/add-ons three years prior to purchasing a subscription will be applied pro-rata to the initial subscription fees.
NOTE Version 4 site licences that wish to downgrade to smaller configurations can still benefit from the 25% discount (1 and 2 above) if they upgrade to a subscription version before April 2021. Site licence that upgrade after 1 January 2022 will receive a lifetime discount of 10% on the annual subscription fees, regardless of configuration.
Special packages for small publishers as well as limited-time offers will be available to match the rights requirements and facilitate the upgrade of publishers of all sizes. Contacts us for more information.

NOTE: Purchases of additional capacity to the one-off scheme are possible until 31 October 2021; after that date customers who wish to increase their title or licence capacity will be able to do so exclusively via signing up to one of our subscription plans. Please contact us if you have questions.
Unique-user software registration
THAT’S RIGHTS! +EasyRoyalties
Unique-user software registration and activation —12 answers
To accommodate enhancements and new modules in our software (including portals and other online products and services), as well as to be able to provide user-oriented support, we are introducing unique-user registration. Upon our clients confirmation of their users’ details we issue licence registration credentials (or update any older credentials they might have).
The new software registration scheme provides each user with their own unique credentials which they can use for registering and activating their one copy of the software installed on their usual device. Each user’s unique identifier is their email address.
If you are not prompted to enter your credentials when you launch the software, you can still update your registration, by going to:
Preferences > About > Upgrade/Change configuration… > Activate registration… (*)
In the dialogue window that opens, enter your credentials (username and password) and click “OK”.
(*) Note: in releases prior to 4.10.31 the path is: Preferences > About > Upgrade/Change configuration… > Retrieve license key
No, there is no connection.
The unique-user registration procedure concerns your licence for installing and using the software.
The ‘users’ feature within the application can be used to create different user profiles within a database. When you launch That’s Rights! or EasyRoyalties, depending on how you have set up your preferences, you may see a ‘login’ window where you can enter a username (and password if applicable). This will determine which ‘user’ profile you activate for using the software; this is unrelated to the unique-user registration credentials.
No. All users will be able to access a common database as before.
You do not have to update to the latest release of your software. If you decide to update however, please remember that all users sharing the same database need to be on same version. Links and instructions for downloading and installing the latest updates can be found here.
Pending on your configuration and setup, you may find that the registration of your software shows as expired. This may happen for more than one reason (e.g. you may have left your copy of the software unused for some time and missed the prompt to refresh your registration). You can try to enter your credentials to refresh the registration; if this fails to register your copy contact us with a description of your problem and we will advise.
You will need to contact our Help Desk so that we reset your credentials and provide you with instructions for de-installing and re-installing the software.
You will need to uninstall the software files from the previous user’s device, then re-install the software on the new colleague’s device and contact our Help Desk so that we modify the credentials of the licence.
A unique email address (e.g. assistant@mycompany.com) can be used as a unique identifier. Note that registrations for installations with generic email addresses for interns, assistants, temporary cover etc. may need to be refreshed more frequently.
Although we no longer offer ‘site’ (unlimited user) licences as of 2017, you will be able to continue adding user accounts as required for as long as you are using version 4. Each new user however will need to have their own credentials set up via our Help Desk; we also ask you to notify us if a user no longer works in the company who purchased the software so that we deactivate/delete their credentials.
Yes. Our licence count is per user per device.
Month-to-month subscriptions are available for temporary installations.
For any other uses of the software (tests by your IT department etc.) please contact our Help Desk; we will be happy to assist you.
No. Your Hosted Desktop subscription will not be affected by the new registration system.
